What is a fitness lifestyle? A simple yet overlooked question. Many of us are extremely fit or extremely deconditioned. I believe the optimal fitness levels lie within each one of us.

Some of us are bodybuilders, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, etc. This group recognizes the outcome of being in shape or not in shape. In many cases this group's paycheck, self-identity, or pecking order in life depends on fitness. Well, what if this group's fitness levels were taken away?

On the other hand, some of us are obese, have serious health problems, and are just average people. This group also recognizes the outcome of being in shape or not. With this group they have some of the same issues as the fit group. The largest difference is that in most cases their life depends on their fitness levels. What if fitness levels were enhanced in this group?

Well, guess what? These groups are one in the same. Each person's perception of fitness will give them a quality life or not. I am making this point because of the disparity, stress and perceptions within fitness levels. The best way to create a fitness equilibrium is for each of us to define what fitness is and how it will impact our lives. Fitness can impact our lives both positively and negatively. We must keep this thought process in perspective and choose our healthy fitness lifestyle.

I challenge everyone to assess their perception of fitness and how it has impacted their life thus far. When you find the right recipe, live that lifestyle to the fullest.
